25 | At 12:30 p.m., Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Pa Dao Vang and Josiah Gathing met with Licensee, Deanne and Shannon Pistorius, for the purpose of an unannounced, required - 1 year inspection. There were 8 children in care present during inspection. Licensees stated there are 15 children currently enrolled. Facility hours of operation are from 4:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Off limits areas include the 2 bedrooms, 1 office, and laundry room.
All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, 3A-40-B-C fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke alarm and carbon monoxide detector. Licensee stated that there are no weapons nor poisons in the home. Toxic and hazardous items were appropriately stored, inaccessible to children.
LPAs reviewed staff files. Licensees CPR/First Aid expires on 12/27/23 and Mandated Reporter Training expires on 3/4/25. LPA reviewed 8 children's with current required documents. LPAs informed Licensee of location change for regional office and provided updated parents’ rights forms and postings with current address.
