Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Jennie Tedlos and ErwinTjhia met with Licensee, Eileen Argel for an unannounced random annual inspection. There were 6 children present during today inspection. Off-limit rooms are: all bedrooms, laundry room, kitchen, garage, family room, dining room and backyard. Licensee acknowledges that children may never enter these off-limit areas. Hours of operation are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Monday through Friday.

A tour of the home, inside and outside, as shown on the facility sketch were conducted. Licensee states there are no weapons or firearms in the home. Swimming pool is fenced per regulation with mesh pool fencing. LPA observed poisons, cleaning compound's, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and smoke detector meets regulations. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working telephone. Adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. The capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. Pediatric CPR/FA is current with expiration date of 2/2024. Mandated Reporter training is current with an expiration date of 3/2024. A child roster is maintained. Fire and disaster drills are conducted every six months and documented.

Children's files were reviewed. Emergency information and required immunization records were on file.

LPA verified the annual fees are current.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. LPA discussed the infant sleep regulations with licensee. LPA discussed the requirement to check and log infant napping every 15 minutes / observed 15min infant napping logs for infants 24 months and under. LPAlprovided a copy of LIC 9227 Individual Sleeping Plan, for infants under 12 months, for licensee during today's inspection. LPA also discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

LPAs provided the Community Care Licensing website www.ccld.ca.gov, so the licensee can obtain updated licensing information, new regulations and access forms. LPA advised licensee of their responsibility to stay current in regard to new regulations. LPA also included the email address for the children's advocacy program to stay current on new laws childcareadvocatesprogram@dss.ca.gov.



Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Eileen Argel. Licensee was encouraged to visit the Department website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for childcare updates, current forms, legislation and regulation information. A copy of this report will remain on file for a period of three years for public review upon request. Licensee's signature on this form acknowledges receipt of this form. A notice of site visit was provided and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.

In the areas that were evaluated, no deficiencies were cited during today’s inspection.
