25 | On 08/14/2024 at approximately 9:00am, Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arianna Manabat and Chris Bello met with the Director, Bobbie Sumpter, for the purpose of a follow-up case management inspection for the request for a capacity increase. The Licensee is requesting a total of 40 preschool children ages two years to entry into Kindergarten.
During the visit CAB LPA Manabat conducted on 08/05/2024, the outdoor space that was immediately located outside of the portables was initially measured for 1,545 sqft. During today's visit, LPAs Manabat and Bello measured a total of 1,061.14 sqft which will not accommodate the request for 40 preschool children. The facility representative understands that a insufficient outdoor space waiver request will need to be submitted for review and is not guaranteed. Additionally, LPA Manabat observed that there were two planters located in front of portable 3. The facility representative stated that there is a work order that has been put in to remove these planters. LPAs collected a work order receipt from the facility representative with this information.
Additionally, there is still on-going construction in the previous outdoor play area. LPAs Manabat and Bello discussed with the facility representative that this outdoor area should be exclusively used for preschool children. The school-age children will be using the outdoor field area that was discussed in the case management report dated on 08/05/2024. There will not be any changes for the school-age yard than what was discussed on that case management report.
The facility representative stated that there was an additional space inside of the elementary campus that could be used by children in care. During today's visit, LPAs evaluated the space and found that the area was not properly secured. LPAs stated that that space would not be able to be used by the facility as it did not meet licensing regulations. The facility representative stated that she understood that the outdoor area outside of the portable was the only designated area for the preschool children and that she would not be able to utilize the area inside of the elementary school campus.
