32 | LPA conducted interviews with administration, staff, children who attend the facility, and parents of children who attend the facility. Administration and staff state that chemical cleaning solutions are used when children are out of the general area, including during circle time, while the children are playing outside, and at the end of the day when children are no longer in the classroom. Administration and staff also state that children practice “Practical Life” skills which includes cleaning up after themselves with soap, water, and sponges. Children at the facility also state that they clean using soap, water and sponges and that teachers have sprays that children are not allowed to use. Children say that teachers usually clean tables during circle time, when children are not in the table area. Interviews with parents do not reveal any concerns with cleaning practices.
Based on the information obtained throughout the course of this investigation for the above allegations, LPA Tedlos determined that the allegations were found to be UNSUBSTANTIATED, meaning although the allegations may have happened or are valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violations did or did not occur. An exit Interview was conducted with the Director, Sara Nelson.
