25 | On January 8th, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mandie Goodwin met with Licensee Ruth Lamphere, for the purpose of an unannounced required 1-year inspection. No other adults were present in home during time of inspection. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPA observed there were five daycare children, including 2 infants during time of inspection. Facility days and hours of operation are 6:30am-5:00pm Monday-Friday.
Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include the garage, daughter’s bedroom, and grandson’s bedroom. Licensee acknowledges that children may never enter the off limit areas. LPA observed the required postings, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and functional smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home. There were no bodies of water observed today. Backyard is fully fenced and toys are in good condition. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children.
LPA reviewed all present children’s files, which were observed to be complete. Licensee has record of conducting 15 minute sleep checks for infants under 2 years old. A current children’s roster was observed. Licensee has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. Per record, last drill was conducted on 12/12/23. LPA discussed the requirement of renewing CPR and mandated reporter training every 2 years. Licensee’s CPR is current and expires 6/11/24. Mandated reporter training is current and expires 1/13/24. Mandated reporter can be renewed at mandatedreporterca.com.
