On October 18, 2022 at approximately 11:30 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mandie Goodwin and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Seychelle De Luca met with Licensee Anna Duren, for the purpose of an unannounced required 1-year inspection. Licensee’s assistant is also home today. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPA observed a total census of 5 children. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until 5:30 PM.

Licensee guided LPA and LPM on a tour of the facility and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include the entire upstairs, garage, laundry room, downstairs room, and side-yard. Licensee acknowledged that children must never enter these areas. LPA and LPM observed the required postings, a working phone, a charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home. No bodies of water were observed today. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Stairs are gated. Outdoor play space is fenced and in good repair.

LPA and LPM reviewed children’s files, which were observed to be complete. A children’s roster was observed. Licensee states that their last fire drill was conducted in September. Licensee and all other adult files were observed to be complete. LPA observed licensee’s CPR and First Aid card which expires October 2023.

LPA discussed the requirement of renewing mandated reporter training every 2 years. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter Training is current and expires on 06/18/2024. LPA reviewed and provided the Family Child Care Home Entrance Checklist.
