25 | On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Seychelle De Luca met with Director Giselle Delaney-Wallace for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed 5 children supervised by 2 staff. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured classroom spaces, restroom, and outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, Child Personal Rights, Seat Belt Law, Menu, Daily Schedule, and Emergency Disaster Plan. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and full 3A40BC fire extinguisher. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. LPA observed changing tables in arms reach of a sink. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The provides breakfast, lunch, and a snack. LPA observed infant bottles labeled in the refrigerator.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. The facility uses electronic sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. The last fire drill was conducted on April 3, 2024. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts, and bark and astroturf is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by trees. Director stated that children use personal cups for drinking water.
Two staff and two children's records were reviewed. Both children’s files and staff files were observed to be complete. The facility keeps an electronic record of 15 minute sleep checks. LPA observed Individual Infant Sleeping Plans and Need and Services plans in classroom binders. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate.
