25 | On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Seychelle De Luca met with Director Giselle Delaney-Wallace for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. Upon arrival, LPA observed five children supervised by two staff. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
At 12:53 PM, LPA observed a child in the restroom by herself. Staff was supervising napping children in a preschool classroom and had sent child to the restroom. Another staff walked into the hallway at 12:54 PM and was able to supervise the child until, and escort her back to her classroom.
LPA toured classroom spaces, restrooms, and outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, Child Personal Rights, Seat Belt Law, Menu, Daily Schedule, and Emergency Disaster Plan. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and full 3A40BC fire extinguisher. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The provides breakfast, lunch, and a snack.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. The facility uses electronic sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. The last fire drill was conducted on April 3, 2024. Bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by awnings and trees. Director stated that children use water pitchers and are provided cups.
