13 | On May 13, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kyrsten Williams met with licensee/director, Josette King, to deliver complaint findings for the above allegations. The purpose of today's inspection was explained. Upon arrival, LPA observed seven children in care being supervised by the director. At approximately 9:30am, an assistant teacher arrived at the facility.
It was alleged staff restrained a day care child and staff encouraged day care child to hit another child. Throughout the course of the investigation, LPA conducted staff interviews, parent interviews, child interviews, and made observations. During interview with staff, it was learned the facility uses verbal redirection for child behaviors and time-out. Staff also stated if the child's behavior continues, a parent may be requested to come pick the child up. Two out of four completed parent interviews revealed no concerns regarding the facility's discipline policy. During interviews with children, three out of five children stated hitting is not allowed at the facility and time-out is used as a form of discipline if a child hits another child.
