25 | On September 20, 2022 at approximately 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with Director Josette King for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA observed care and supervision of 10 children with two staff. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA toured the indoor classroom area, children’s restroom, staff restroom, kitchen, and outdoor play area. Medications were stored out of children’s reach according to regulation. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. Restrooms are in sanitary condition with functioning toilets. The floors were clean throughout the facility.
LPA observed that solid waste containers were covered. Per Director, the facility provides meals for the children. Menus were posted and drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed electronic sign in/out forms with the current date and parent's full names.
At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification. All staff currently employed with the facility have a criminal record clearance.
LPA observed the sample of children’s files contained the appropriate documents. LPA advised Director to maintain an updated fire drill log. LPA observed complete children’s roster on file. The facility is equipped with First Aid equipment.
