| Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Ferrara met with Facility Representative Megan Covey for an unannounced Case Management Inspection. LPA observed there were currently 34 children in care with four staff.
The purpose of today’s inspection was to follow up regarding water sampling that indicated Action Level Exceedance (ALE) for a drinking fountain that was tested for lead levels on March 4th, 2022. On May 10th, 2022 the facility was notified that water levels were in exceedance of 5 parts per billion in the drinking fountain that was tested.
Since notification, the water fountain has been taped off and not allowed for use. Facility Representative stated that the piece to fix the fountain is on back order and they have made the decision to remove the water fountain instead.
Alternative drinking water has been provided to the center through another drinking fountain that tested as safe for use, as well as children bringing their own water bottles.
LPA informed the Facility Representative that Grant funding for testing and remediation is available referenced from Provider Information Notice (PIN) 21-04-CCP.
Deficiencies are cited on the following page of the report that pose a potential threat to the health and safety of children in care if not corrected. LPA reviewed this report with the Facility Representative and conducted an exit interview. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and should remain posted for 30 days.
