On July 13, 2023 at approximately 9:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with Director Nooriya Mamoor for the purpose of an unannounced annual random inspection. LPA observed care and supervision of 14 children with one director and two staff. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

LPA toured two classrooms with children present, two empty classrooms, children’s restrooms, staff restroom, kitchen, office, and outdoor play area. Per Director, there are currently no children requiring medication. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. The ground below the play structures is sufficiently padded. Restrooms are in sanitary condition with functioning toilets. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility.

LPA observed that solid waste containers were covered. Per Director, the facility provides meals for the children. Menus were posted and drinking water was readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. LPA observed a manual sign in and out sheet with parent’s full signatures. LPA observed required posted documents.

All present staff files were reviewed and found to be complete. Staff transcripts were reviewed, and all teachers present were fully qualified. LPA observed staff had current Mandated Reporter certificates and proof of immunizations. LPA observed a current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certificate on file which will expire June 29, 2024.

LPA observed the sample of children’s files contained the appropriate documents. LPA observed a fire drill log most recently dated June 9, 2023. LPA observed complete children’s roster on file. The facility is equipped with First Aid equipment, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and pull alarms.

LPA discussed Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records. Facility Director was encouraged to the visit the Department's website at WWW.CCLD.CA.GOV for information regarding child care updates, PINs, forms, regulations and legislation pertaining to child care centers.

No deficiencies were cited based on today’s inspection. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with the Director. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Appeal rights were provided.
