On Thursday, November 21, 2024, at approximately 11:30 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with Director Michelle Ingram, for the purpose of a complaint investigation and to deliver findings. It was alleged that a child sustained unexplained injuries while in care and that staff are operating facility out of ratio. Throughout the course of the investigation, LPA conducted interviews, reviewed documents, and made observations. LPA observed facility following ratios per regulation during the investigation. LPA observed full supervision of children in care during investigation. According to staff interview, staff are always aware of the reasons for child injuries due to adequate supervision and proper teacher to child ratios. Parents stated in interview that the facility is adequately staffed, though substitutes are sometimes called in for assistance. Parents also stated that all injuries are reported through the Brightwheel application.
Although the alleged violations may have happened or are valid, the preponderance of evidence standard has not been met to fully prove or disprove that they did or did not occur, therefore, they are unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted and a notice of site visit provided. Notice of site visit shall remain posted for 30 days.
