25 | Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Natalie Dunaway and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Jennifer Velasco met with Licensee Sara Carbajal Attaous for an Informal office visit.
LPM defined the difference between Non-Compliance and an Informal meeting. LPM advised that the purpose of today's meeting is to help provider gain compliance.
Today's informal meeting was arranged by the Department to discuss the recent Type A citation.
On 11/5/24, a personal rights complaint was received alleging that the licensee hit a child. On 11/7/24, the allegation was substantiated that the licensee lightly tapped a child on the back of the hand, not causing injury. A Type A deficiency was cited and plan of correction was developed. The plan of correction is as follows:
1. Licensee has reviewed her curriculum to ensure that children experience minimal frustration during the introduction of new skills
2. Licensee encourages children to talk about their frustrations
3. Licensee will avoid physical contact with children when they are frustrated
LPA discussed follow-up documentation for file. LPA and LPM reviewed personal rights requirements. LPM discussed using the Department website (ccld.ca.gov) for child care updates, current forms, legislation and regulation information. LPM suggested that Licensee can view information videos at www.ccld.childcarevideos.org.
