13 | On April 3rd, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mandie Goodwin met with Licensee Sonya Mclorin-Jackson to deliver findings for a complaint investigation. Upon arrival LPA observed 5 children including 2 infants supervised by Licensee and assistant.
It was alleged that the Licensee does not keep the facility clean, that the Licensee used an inappropriate form of punishment for day care children, and that the Licensee yells at day care children. During the course of the investigation LPA made observations, collected documentation, and conducted interviews.
LPA observed that the facility does have clutter from children playing with toys, however there was nothing dangerous to the children's safety and wellbeing. Based on interviews LPA could not determine that an inappropriate form of discipline was used. Interviews stated that the licensee speaks to children about behaviors or uses time out if needed. Licensee stated that she does use a loud yelling voice to get children's attention and to stop voices, but it does not intimidate or scare children. Cont. on 9099-C |
