25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Michelle Perez met with School aged teacher, Rebecca SIlva, for the purpose of an unannounced required inspection. Operating hours of the facility are from 6:30 am - 6:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Today there were 20 school aged children in care with two staff.
All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained criminal record clearance. Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
LPA toured all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service, and outdoor play areas. No children are currently on medications. Medications are properly stored and inaccessible to children. Assistant director stated that there are no poisons at the facility. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, free of hazards. LPA observed outdoor playground area of the facility. The areas around or under climbing equipment are cushioned with sand.
