25 | On Friday, November 5th, 2021, at 11:50am, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Blake Morillas met with the Licensee's adult daughter and Assistant, Shania Remine, for the purpose of an unannounced Annual Required inspection as well as to conduct a Case Management visit to increase their capacity from a maximum of 8 to 14 children. The Licensee was away running errands while the inspection was taking place but returned at the end of the inspection. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. At 11:50am, 2 infants and 1 preschool age child were observed.
The Assistant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
Previous to inspection, the Licensee had submitted an application for an Increase of Capacity. The required Fire Safety Inspection Clearance has been received from the local Fire Department and the home has been cleared for up to 14 children.
Operating hours are 7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, year around.
At 11:53am, LPA initiated a health and safety inspection of all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include the Garage, Daughters' Bedrooms, Master Bedroom. The Assistant acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas.
