25 | On Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 1:12 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Tanya Washington and Lea Habtom met with Facility Representative (FR), Amy Nem for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPAs observed 23 napping children supervised by six staff in three separate classrooms. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. FR indicated that currently there are no infants enrolled under 12 months of age.
LPAs toured all classroom spaces, restroom, and outdoor play areas. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, menu, schedule, lead testing brochure, child personal rights, and seat belt law. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector. Cleaning disinfectants, medications and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. FR stated that infant bedding is picked up every Friday to be washed by company called Fluff & Fold, spare sheets are available if needed. LPA observed changing tables in arms reach of a sink. FR stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Facility provides breakfast, lunch and snack. All meals are delivered to the facility from the mail SETA cafeteria. There are no children enrolled right now who take the baby bottle.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. Facility utilizes electronic sign in/out system called ChildPlus. In case of malfunction of the system there is a paper version of the sign in/ out log. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted on 09/08/23. LPAs observed children’s roster. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and turf is present under climbing equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by the buildings and overhangs. There is an operational water fountain in every classroom for older toddlers and staff bring out a jug of water and singly use cups for outdoors.
