25 | On March 9, 2022 at approximately 1:25 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Josiah Gathing and Karyn Guerra met with licensee Tanika Banahene for the purpose of an annual required inspection. The facility days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Licensee reported 12 children are currently enrolled. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off limits areas consist of: bedroom . LPAs observed a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per licensee, there are no weapons on the premises. Toxic and hazardous items were inaccessible to children. Safe toys were observed in children’s play area. During the inspection, four children were observed sleeping in unapproved equipment. LPAs advised the licensee about approved sleeping equipment and the children were moved to cots during the inspection.
During children’s file review, LPAs located the required documents. Children’s roster and fire drill log were made available during the inspection. The last fire drill was conducted 3/7/2022. CPR and First Aid certification was posted near the entry with an expiration date of 6/27/2023. Mandated reporter training certificate was observed in the licensee files with an expiration date of 12/10/2023. LPAs observed required postings near the facility entrance.
