25 | At 10:25 AM on Thursday February 22nd, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Stephanie Piring met with director, Maya Patel , for the purpose of an unannounced 1 year required inspection. Operating hours of the facility are from 7:00 am to 6:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. LPAs toured the facility, at which time a census of 38 preschool children supervised by 6 staff across 3 classrooms was observed.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in the classrooms, restrooms, food service areas, and outdoor play areas. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, required publications, menus, and daily schedules. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Medications are stored out of reach and inaccessible to children. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in sanitary, and operating condition. Bins for solid waste have tight fitting lids. The floors appeared clean throughout the facility. LPAs observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Children have access to cups and water from the sink. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts. LPAs observed sufficient cushioning of bark and grass. Outdoor shade is provided by trees, and sides of buildings. There are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. Director stated there are no poisons on the premises.
LPAs reviewed facility records including child's records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted. LPA reviewed a sample of 5 children’s files and observed that each child's file contained the required licensing documentation. LPA reviewed records for all staff. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification expiring 8/2024. All staff currently employed with the facility have: a criminal record clearance, a health screening report, immunization records, current AB1207 Mandated Reporter Training, and documentation of their educational background, training, and/or experience. LPA observed a children's roster and fire drill log within the facility. LPA observed all required licensing documents were posted and visible to authorized representatives.
