25 | At 1:25 p.m., Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Pa Dao Vang and Jeremy McClain met with Licensee, Natalie Garcia, for the purpose of an unannounced, required - 1 year inspection. There are 9 children supervised by 2 staff. Facility hours of operation are from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Off limits areas include the all of upstairs, garage, and laundry room.
All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. LPAs observed the required postings, a working phone, 2A10BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Licensee stated that there are no weapons nor poisons in the home. Toxic and hazardous items were appropriately stored, inaccessible to children.
LPA reviewed staff files. Licensee CPR/First Aid certificationn is current with expiration date of 7/31/2025. LPA observed Mandated reporter training certificate expiring 3/29/2024. LPAs reviewed 9 children's files with all required documents. LPAs informed Licensee of location change for regional office and provided updated parents’ rights forms and postings with current address. LPAs will provide a new Notification of Parents' Right form with updated address.
