25 | On August 25, 2022 at approximately 11:00 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with licensees Monica and Orlando Stevenson for the purpose of a required annual inspection. The facility days and hours of operation are Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. During today’s inspection, there were 10 day care child present, with a total of 11 enrolled. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas of the home include: Masterbedroom/bathroom, Bedroom 1, Bedroom 2, and Garage. LPA observed a full 3A40BC fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. LPA observed first aid kit. Per licensee, there are no weapons in the home. Toxic and hazardous items were in a locked cabinet, inaccessible to children. Fireplace was covered and inaccessible to children. Required postings were observed near the entrance.
During file review, LPA observed all necessary Children’s documents. LPA observed a current children’s roster and fire drill log last updated 07/28/2022. LPA observed Preventative Health and Safety certificate completed 09/19/2020 and First Aid/CPR certificates valid through August 2024. LPA observed current Mandated Reporter training certificates valid through August 2024.
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual – Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417.
