25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Singh met with licensee, Mayesha Elix, for an annual inspection. The purpose of the inspection was explained. Licensee lives in a single family home. Present, there are 14 children in care (including licensee's own 2 children) with licensee and one helper. All adults living or working in the home have criminal background check on file. Licensee is operating within the capacity of this date. Licensee operates from Monday to Friday between 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
LPA inspected the day care areas with the licensee. Day Care Areas: Room left side of the entrance, Hallway, Study room, Living room, Kitchen, Bathroom in hallway and Backyard. Off limit areas: All bedrooms and Garage. There are no pools, spas or other bodies of water on the property. As per licensee, there is no firearm or weapon in the house. Fireplace is barricaded. All the cleaning supplies, poisons and other chemicals are stored inaccessible to the children. All of the unused electrical outlets have child protective covers installed. The house is in good repair and free of hazards with proper temperature and ventilation. There is carbon monoxide detector, smoke detector, fully charged fire extinguisher and working telephone available in the house. There is a variety of age appropriate toys in the house. There are age appropriate play structures in the back yard and plenty of shaded area for the children. There are wood chips under the play structures to prevent any fall injury.
LPA reviewed the facility records. LPA observed licensee has License and other required documents posted in the child care areas. LPA reminded the licensee that fire drills must be conducted and logged. Licensee has a log in place. Per log, last drill was conducted on June 20, 2023. LPA reviewed the present children's record. LPA reviewed the identification and emergency information form for every child for proper names and numbers filled. Licensee has record of immunization of each child in care.
