13 | On Thursday, June 22, 2023, at approximately 8:45 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Seychelle De Luca met with Assistant Director, Tiffany Deans, for the purpose of a complaint investigation and to deliver findings. It was alleged that a daycare child sustained unexplained injuries while in care. Throughout the course of the investigation, LPA conducted interviews, reviewed documents, and made observations. LPA observed full supervision of all children in care throughout the investigation. Staff interviews revealed that minor injuries are treated with first aid and reported to parents. Staff stated in interview that supervision is always adequate because the facility has hired surplus staff. Parents stated in interview that incident reports have provided sufficient explanation when their children have had injuries in the facility. Parents also stated in interviews that they do not have any concerns with supervision at the facility. Although the alleged violations may have happened or are valid, the preponderance of evidence standard has not been met to fully prove or disprove that they did or did not occur, therefore, the allegation is unsubstantiated. An exit interview was conducted and a notice of site visit provided. Notice of site visit shall remain posted for 30 days. |
