13 | On Thursday, May 23, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Stephanie Piring met with Facility Representative (Director) Brittany Ackerson, for the purpose of a complaint investigation and to deliver findings. LPA observed 14 napping toddlers being supervised by 2 staff and 24 napping preschool children being supervised by 2 staff. It was alleged that staff are not qualified, the facility is out of ratio, and staff are commingling day care children. Throughout the course of the investigation, LPA conducted interviews, reviewed relevant documents, and made observations. During file review, LPA observed that all teachers were fully qualified. LPA did not observe commingling to occur during observation, or that the facility was out of ratio. Staff, and Authorized Representative Interviews did not reveal instances of commingling or that the facility operates out of ratio. The facility has a commingling waiver on file for preschool and school age children for the first and last hour of the day. Director shared that when they are in need of staff, they utilize Child Care Careers substitute staff. Director also shared that they have recently hired 4 new staff, 3 of which will be in the preschool classroom and 1 will be in the toddler option classroom. Although the alleged violations may have happened or are valid, the preponderance of evidence standard has not been met, therefore, the allegation is unsubstantiated. Exit interview was conducted and report was reviewed with Facility Representative Brittany Ackerson. Appeal rights were provided. Notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
