25 | On March 5, 2024 at approximately 12:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with licensee Esmerelda Mendoza for the purpose of a required three-year inspection. There were seven daycare children present during today’s inspection. Licensee’s spouse was also present. Days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance.
LPA arrived at nap time and observed that one four-year-old child was awake, and standing in a play yard. LPA observed this child jumping to reach out of the play yard and grab a nearby blanket from a sofa. LPA reviewed the play yard booklets which instruct users to stop using product when child reaches 35 inches (89 cm) in height, weighs more than 30 lb (14 kg), or is able to climb out. LPA issued a technical advisory, and reminded Licensee to follow all consumer recommendations for children’s products.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-Limits areas: all bedrooms, garage, and sides of backyard. LPA observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher, first aid kit, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per licensee, there are no weapons or poisons in the home. LPA observed required posted documents.
LPA reviewed a sample of children’s files and found them to be complete. Licensee’s CPR and First Aid certificate is valid through March 3, 2025. Licensee’s Mandated Reporter certificate is valid through November 6, 2024.
