25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Gagandeep Singh met with the licensee, Clare Janes, for a case management inspection. The licensee submitted an application for increasing the capacity from maximum of eight children in care to fourteen children. Licensee also informed the Department that licensee will be using newly constructed room in the back yard for the day care. Fire inspection was requested by the Department. The new room in the back yard was inspected by the local fire department on July 25, 2023 and clearance was granted.
During today's inspection, LPA inspected the day care area and backyard. LPA observed there is fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke and Carbon monoxide detector detector and fire pull alarm in the room. There is a bathroom attached to the room, which has functioning toilet and sink for the children. There is another sink in the day care room. Cabinets under the sink have child protective locks installed. There are no chemicals or other hazardous items in the day care room. There is no fire place in the day care room. There are pools, spas or other bodies of water on the property. Licensee has record of CPR valid until October 2024 and Mandated reporter training until November 2023. During inspection, LPA discussed the capacity regulations and requirements with the licensee and provided a handout as resource.
Based on the inspection today, licensee meets the requirements for a large family child care home license. Therefore, the license will be granted as of today. Copy of this report was reviewed and provided to the licensee. Notice of site visit is posted and shall remain posted for next 30 days. |
