25 | On Friday, February 23, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Fabian Schwartz met Director Debbie Jen for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA observed 10 children supervised by two staff. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPAs toured classroom space, kitchen, restroom, and outdoor play area. LPAs observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, Child personal Rights, Seat Belt Law, Menu, Daily Schedule, Shared Outdoor Space Waiver, and Emergency Disaster Plan. Cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. During the children's nap time, LPAs observed a knife in the kitchen dishwasher, which was accessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The provides lunch and two snacks.
LPA observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. The facility uses paper sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. The last fire drill was conducted on January 31, 2024. LPAs observed a playground structure and a tricycle to be in disrepair with sharp parts. Director discarded broken structures while LPAs were present at the facility. LPA observed rubber mulch under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by awnings. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that children bring their own water bottles, which they fill using the kitchen sink tap.
Two staff and five children's records were reviewed. Children’s files were observed to be complete. LPAs did not observe staff health screening reports in either of the files reviewed. There is at least one staff member present with a current CPR certificate.
