25 | On Friday, February 23, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Amanda Sutter and Fabian Schwartz met with Director Debbie Jen for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA observed 6 children supervised by 2 staff. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured classroom space, restroom, and outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Parents' Rights Poster, Child personal Rights, Seat Belt Law, Menu, Daily Schedule, Shared Outdoor Space Waiver, and Emergency Disaster Plan. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector. Cleaning disinfectants and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Program is documenting the napping infants every 15 minutes. Director stated that infant bedding is washed weekly. LPA observed changing tables in arms reach of a sink. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. Children bring their own food. The program provides occasionally provides snacks to supplement the children’s meals. LPA observed bottles without labels in the refrigerator.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. LPA observed the facility’s paper sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted on January 31, 2024. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by the building awning. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that children bring their own water bottles which are refilled using water jugs.
LPAs observed three children napping in cribs. LPAs observed one napping child with a blanket and stuffed animal. LPAs observed director to remove items from the crib.
