13 | At 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31st, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Director, Kapria Hebert, for the purpose of an unannounced complaint inspection to deliver findings. It was alleged that staff exposed a child to an unsafe environment, with a concern that a child was in the kitchen with a staff member being held as the staff member cooked at the stove. Staff interviewed denied the allegation. It was stated that items will be brought into the classroom from the kitchen to conduct cooking projects, and children do not enter the kitchen area. It was also alleged that the facility is malodorous. An odor was not observed during inspections to the facility, nor did interviews reveal any concerns. Bins for solid waste in the facility were observed to be in a cupboard, with a swinging lid, and not accessible to children. The allegations are unsubstantiated. Although the alleged violations may have happened or are valid, the preponderance of evidence standard was not met to fully prove or disprove that the allegations did or did not occur, therefore, they are unsubstantiated. This report was reviewed with the Director, Kapria Hebert, and a notice of site visit provided. Notice of site visit shall remain posted for 30 days. |
