13 | At 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31st, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Karyn Guerra met with Director, Kapria Hebert, for the purpose of an unannounced complaint investigation to deliver findings. It was alleged that staff yells at children in care. It was learned in interviews that staff may yell down the hallway to communicate a message. Staff denied yelling directly at children, nor was yelling stated to have caused fear in children. It was also alleged that the facility is malodorous. An odor was not observed during inspections to the facility, not did interviews reveal any concerns. Bins for solid waste in the facility were observed to be in a cupboard, with a swinging lid, and not accessible to children. It was also alleged that the staff is not providing adequate supervision to children in care, with concerns that children run up and down the hallways. Staff interviewed denied the allegation. It was stated that the facility will do a name to face check throughout the day. LPA observed donut rings as a tool to assist children walking down the hall. It was also stated that staff will face the children while walking down the hall and will sing a song with them.
