25 | Application Specialist (AS) Mai Lor and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alize Tillery met with Director Cynthia Bunton for the purpose of an announced pre-licensing inspection. Applicant requests an infant license to serve 20 infants from birth to 24 months. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The fire clearance was granted on 08/4/21 with a maximum of 18 infants.
Applicant acknowledges that the following documents must be posted at all times: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, Effects of Lead Exposure, car seat poster, menus, and daily schedule. AS and LPA provided and discussed LIC311A and the forms that must be in each child's and each staff member's file. Applicant stated the Needs and Services plans will be kept in the classrooms. Applicant stated parents will provide all formula, milk, and food for children under 1 and the program will provide provide breakfast, lunch and pm snacks for the older infants.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are two infant classrooms: Infant classroom #1 and #2. AS and LPA observed a sufficient number of tables, chairs, and cubbies for 20 infants. AS and LPA observed 5 cribs and 12 napping cots. AS and LPA observed a variety of age-appropriate toys and equipment. Applicant acknowledges there will be a maximum of 5 infants under 12 months old, due to available cribs. The napping area is separated from the activity space by see through moveable dividers. Director was reminded to maintain supervision at all times to prevent any injuries.There is a first aid kit in each of the classrooms. Medications will be stored in the kitchen in a locked box. AS and LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Applicant stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. AS and LPA observed water pitcher in the school age classroom. Applicant stated they will have the same water pitcher for the infant classrooms. Applicant stated the carbon monoxide detector is combined with the smoke detector per the fire inspector in each of the classrooms. AS and LPA observed an electronic sign-in/sign-out system.
