25 | On Wednesday, December 4, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter met with Licensee, Jamila Yaqubi, for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection, and for a capacity increase from 8 to 14 children. The Fire Safety Inspection Clearance has been received from the Sacramento Metro Fire Department on November 25, 2024, and the home has been cleared for up to 14 children. Upon arrival, LPA observed licensee supervising 6 children. Licensee’s minor over 10 years old was also present at the facility. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPA observed proper ratio and capacity was being followed. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Sunday from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limit areas include: main floor with the exception of the foyer and second floor. LPA observed the top of the stairs to the second floor to be barricaded. The stairs between the main and daycare room are not barricaded, and the bottom of the stairs between the main and second floor are not barricaded. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons in the home. Licensee was reminded that all poisons need to be kept in a place with a key lock. LPA observed a fireplace to be barricaded according to regulation. LPA did not observe any bodies of water at the facility. The backyard is fenced.
