25 | On 02/08/2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Arianna Manabat met with Licensee Krystal King for an unannounced annual / one year inspection. Facility hours of operation are Monday -Thursday from 07:30 AM to 05:30 PM. During the inspection there were five children in care. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance.
LPA toured the two-story home at 12:00PM and a health and safety inspection was conducted in the areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include the upstairs, the garage, and rooms. LPA observed that the home has a working telephone, fully charged fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector that meet regulations. LPA observed all the required postings. Licensee locks all poisons must be locked with a key lock or combination lock. LPA observed a barricaded fireplace.
Licensee has provided documentation of current immunization records. Children's roster and a fire drill log were observed, the last fire drill was conducted on January 2023. Licensee’s CPR/First aid card had an expiration date in 2024. The Licensee had a completed Mandated Reporter training that expires in 2025. Licensee understands that these trainings must be completed every two years.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. Licensee is currently in the process of obtaining fingerprint clearance for their son. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
