Licensing Program Analysts (LPA) Mandie Goodwin and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Seychelle De Luca met with Director Geeta Singh for a case management inspection to increase the capacity on the preschool license. Licensee requests a capacity increase from 26 preschoolers to 40 preschoolers including 6 toddlers ages ages 18-36 months. Licensee understands that toddlers can not commingle with the preschoolers without a waiver on file.

INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
LPA measure the toddler 1 classroom which contains a total of 210 sq. feet. Preschool 3 classroom measures 211.162 sq. feet. Preschool 2 was previously measured at 298.63sq. feet. Preschool 1 classroom was previously measured at 690.57 sq. feet. Preschool 1 and preschool 2 are located in suite 1, along with the infant room. Preschool 3 and the toddler classroom are located in the connecting suite. LPA discussed postings for connecting suite if families are using the entrance.

LPA and LPM observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and cots. There are three toilets, three potty seats, and two sinks for children. There are also four portable sinks available for children. LPA discussed portable sinks must be maintained in clean and operating condition. Medications are stored in the individual classrooms. Cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Director stated a water jug will be available for all classrooms and no water outlets will be used for consumption. LPA and LPM observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and an electronic sign-in/sign-out system.

The total capacity of 1410.362 sq. feet will accommodate the requested 40 children of 34 preschool children and 6 toddlers.

There is one outdoor play area for children: The playground area will be shared with infant children and preschool children. There is a shared playground waiver on file. The three groups of children will not be on the playground at the same time.

The play space is surrounded by a wrought iron fence with brick that is at least four feet tall. LPA and LPM observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys. There are shaded areas supplied by building overhangs. Director acknowledges staff must ensure children use age-appropriate equipment at all times.

The outdoor activity space was previously measured. The outdoor play area contains a total of 1,133.32 square feet, which only accommodates 15 preschool children. Only 15 preschoolers can be on the playground at any given time. There is a schedule on file that will be followed. Because the playground can only accommodate 15 children at a time there can be a maximum of 2 group rotations with the waiver. The licensee's request for 40 children would require more than 2 group rotations. Licensee could have a maximum of 30 preschool children and the 6 toddlers.

Report was reviewed with Director Geeta Singh and Notice of Site Visit was provided.

CONDITIONS REQUIRING CORRECTION PRIOR TO ISSUING A LICENSE:

1. A final review of the file by Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Seychelle De Luca
2. Submit an updated Application (LIC200A) to request a capacity of 30 preschool children and 6 toddlers.
3. Updated shared outdoor space request with waivers.
