25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's) Owens and McClain met with Director/Owner, Kaneesha Singh for the purpose of an announced pre licensing inspection. Applicant requests an infant license to serve 12 infant children from age 6 weeks to 24 months. The program will operate Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM. The fire clearance was approved on August 24, 2022.
Director acknowledges that the following documents must be posted at all times: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Personal Rights, Parents' Rights Poster, car seat law, Effects of Lead Exposure brochure, menus, and daily schedule. LPA discussed the forms that must be in each child's and each staff member's file. The facility will provide snacks and lunches will be provided by parents.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is one infant classroom: LPA's observed a sufficient amount of cubbies, tables, chairs, napping cots, equipment, and toys. There is a first aid kit in the classroom. LPA's observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Director stated medications will be stored in the office in a locked cabinet. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Director stated there will be water cooler / igloo and cups in the classroom. LPA's observed functional carbon monoxide detector on the premises. Director stated the facility will use an electronic sign-in/sign-out system that is located in the lobby. LPA's observed a small refrigerator and microwave in the infant classroom.
The classroom was measured. The classroom space contains a total of 552.58 square feet, which accommodates the request for 12 infant children. LPA's observed a separate sleeping area equipped with 4 cribs. Facility is limited to 4 infants under the age of 12 months due to availability of cribs. There is a changing table next to a sink for infant children and one separate private restroom for the staff. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the office and will use the staff restroom, if necessary. Continued on next page |
