25 | Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Arianna Manabat met with Licensee Kaneesha Singh for a case management inspection to increase the capacity on the infant license and to add a toddler option to their preschool license. Licensee requests a capacity increase from 12 to 16 infants. The facility is adding the toddler option to their preschool license and there will be 6 toddlers under the toddler option, ages 18-36 months.
LPAs discussed the forms that must be in each child's and each staff member's file including written permission from the child's authorized representative to enter and exit the toddler option program. Licensee understands there must be a ratio of 6 toddlers to every 1 staff and staff must have infant units.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
LPAs observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and cots for toddlers. LPAs observed a changing table that is within arm's reach of a sink, located in the bathroom. Licensee states there are 10 cots for the toddlers. There are 2 toilets, three potty seats, and 1 sink. Medications are stored in the office. Cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Licensee stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Licensee stated a water jug and individual cups will be available in both classrooms. LPAs observed a functional carbon monoxide detector and an electronic sign-in/sign-out system. LPAs took measurements of the infant classroom and the toddler classroom.
The infant classrooms contain a total of 560.92 square feet, which will accommodate 16 children. The toddler classroom contains a total of 298.63 square feet which will accommodate the request for 6 toddlers.
