25 | On Monday, January 23 2023, at approximately 8:55 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Josiah Gathing met with Applicant Heather Coger for the purpose of conducting an announced change of location pre-licensing and capacity change inspection. Applicant is increasing the maximum capacity from 8 to 14 children. The fire safety clearance was granted by the fire department on August 16, 2022. All adults living in the home have received criminal record background clearance. Applicant plans to operate Monday – Friday from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
A health and safety inspection was conducted inside and out of the home. The single-story home includes three bedrooms, one bathroom, living room, kitchen, dining area, childcare area, garage, and back yard. Off-limits areas: All three bedrooms, garage, and backyard.
Cleaning supplies are stored in a locking kitchen cabinet. Sharp knives are stored in a knife block in the kitchen, out of children’s reach. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, first aid kit, and 2A10BC fire extinguisher. Additionally, LPA observed a pull alarm near the front door.
Applicant completed the Preventative Health and Safety course including the Lead Poisoning Prevention training on August 22, 2020. Applicant has a current EMSA certified CPR and First Aid certificate which expires 01/27/2024. Applicant stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. Applicant understands that prior to making alterations or additions to the home or grounds, she shall notify the Department of the proposed changes.
