25 | Licensing Program Analyst Jennifer Velasco (LPA) met with facility representative, Administrator Megan Covey (M1), to conduct an unannounced case management inspection regarding the facility's request to increase capacity from 30 total children to 33 total children. The current program is licensed to provide care to six toddlers and 24 preschool children. The capacity increase request is not to increase the number of toddlers but to increase the number of preschool children from 24 to 27. This preschool capacity increase has been approved by the Fire Marshal.
There are four classrooms: Classroom 1 (ages 3-4), classroom 2 (age 3), classroom 3 (ages 2-3), and classroom 4 (Toddler Option). Classrooms 1, 2, and 3 contain a combined total of 946 square feet to accommodate 27 preschoolers. Classroom #4 contains a total of 330 square feet to accommodate the six toddlers. There are three toilets and three sinks available for children to use in the facility.
The preschool playground was measured at a total of 3962 square feet, sufficient outdoor activity space to support the requested preschool capacity increase to 27. The toddler yard was measured at a total 1031 square feet to support the current capacity of six toddlers.
LPA observed care and supervision of 19 preschool age children by three classroom staff and four toddler children by one classroom staff. As of today, an increase of capacity from 30 to 33 total children is approved, with the number of toddlers unchanged at six and the number of preschool children increased from 24 to 27.
There were no deficiencies cited during today's visit. This report was reviewed with M1 and an exit interview was conducted. A Notice of Site Visit was provided and shall remain posted for 30 days. |
