25 | On Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 1:40 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Tanya Washington and Lea Habtom met with Licensee, Tamara Baranova, for the purpose of an unannounced required 3 year inspection. There were no daycare children present in the home. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 24 hours. Licensee understands that she cannot provide care to the same child for over 24 hour period.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limit areas include: the first bedroom and garage. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. Licensee requested to add her kitchen area back to on-limits during the inspection. LPA toured the kitchen and observed that all cleaning compounds and sharp items are inaccessible to children. LPA observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPA observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. There is no fireplace in the home. The backyard is fenced and there are no bodies of water.
LPAs reviewed six children’s files which were observed to be complete. Required postings and the children’s roster were observed. LPAs observed a current fire drill log, last drill was documented 03/20/2024. Both Licensee's have current CPR and First Aid certificates.
LPAs verified that the annual fees are current. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
