25 | On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Amanda Sutter met with Director Jamie Tulba for the purpose of an unannounced required annual inspection. LPA observed 50 children supervised by 17 staff. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. The facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
LPA toured classroom space, restroom, kitchen, and outdoor play area. LPA observed the following documents are posted: License, Emergency Disaster Plan, Parents' Rights Poster, Child Personal Rights, Earthquake Preparedness checklist, menu, and seat belt law. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector. Cleaning disinfectants, medications and hazardous items are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children.Director stated that infant bedding is washed weekly. LPA observed changing tables in arms reach of a sink. Director stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Furniture and equipment are in good condition, and toileting facilities are in safe, sanitary, and operating condition. The program provides AM and PM snack, and children bring their own lunch. LPA observed infant food labeled in the refrigerator.
LPAs observed trash bins with tight fitted lids. LPA observed the facility’s electronic sign in and out system. Facility has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months; last fire drill was conducted on August 18, 2023. Playground equipment and surfaces are free of loose or sharp parts and bark is present under the equipment to provide sufficient cushioning. There are sufficient equipment and toys, and shaded areas are supplied by trees and the building. Drinking water is readily available to children both indoors and outdoors. Director stated that children bring their own water bottles which are refilled using water pitchers.
