25 | On March 12th, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Mandie Goodwin and Fabian Schwartz met with Licensee K’Brianey Albro, for the purpose of an unannounced required inspection. Also in the home was Licensee’s spouse as an assistant. All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. LPA observed there were nine daycare children including Licensee’s own child. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6:00am-11:00pm.
Licensee guided LPA on a tour of the facility and a health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The off-limits areas include the entire upstairs, garage, kitchen, and side yards. Licensee acknowledges that children may never enter the off limit areas. LPA observed the required postings, a fully charged fire extinguisher, and functional smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Per Licensee, there are no weapons in the home. No bodies of water were observed today. Toxic and hazardous items are inaccessible to children. Outdoor play space is fenced and toys are in good repair.
LPA reviewed five children’s files, which were observed to be complete. LPA observed individual pack and plays for infants under 24 months and tight fitted sheets covering the mat. Licensee was advised that a current roster must be maintained for all children enrolled within the past 3 years. Licensee has record of conducting fire drills at least every six months. Per record, last drill was conducted on 1/2/24. LPA provided and reviewed the Family Child Care Home Entrance Checklist. LPA discussed the requirement of renewing CPR and mandated reporter training every 2 years. Licensee’s CPR is current and expires 11/19/24. Mandated reporter training can be renewed at mandatedreporterca.com and expires 10/25/24.
