25 | On Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 1:30 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Tanya Washington and Loraine Perez met with Licensee Carmen Arizaga Garcia De Lopez , for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. During today's inspection Licensee and her husband were providing care and supervision to six daycare children.
All individuals subject to criminal background review have obtained a criminal record clearance. Licensee confirmed that there are no new residents or employees in the home. Facility hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 6 AM to 6 PM.
A health and safety evaluation was conducted in all areas accessible to children. The off limit areas of the home consist of both bedrooms and garage. Licensee acknowledged that children cannot have access to the off limit areas of the home. LPAs observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair. LPAs observed a functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, and a full 2A10BC fire extinguisher. The facility has adequate toys that appear to be safe for children to use. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons in the home. There is no fireplace in the home. The outdoor play area is fenced. There are no bodies of water on the premises. LPAs reminded Licensee to provide 100% supervision to children in unfenced areas and around bodies of water.
LPAs reviewed six children’s files which were observed to be complete. Required postings and the children’s roster were observed. LPAs reviewed infant safe sleep log for one infant. LPAs observed a current fire drill log, last drill conducted December 20, 2023. Licensee has a current CPR/First Aid certification which is valid until 07/2025. Licensee's Mandated Reporter Training is valid until 07/2024.
LPA verified that the annual fees are current. Licensee was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.
