25 | On Friday, December 12, 2025, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Tanya Washington conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection and met with the Licensee, Amber Alton. LPA observed Licensee providing care and supervision to four daycare children ages 1, 3, 3, 5. Also present in the home is Licensee's adult son. Facility is within ratio/ capacity limitations during today's inspection. Facility hours of operation are Monday through Friday 07:00 AM to 04:00 PM.
LPA and Licensee toured all areas of the home accessible to children. During today's inspection, the Licensee requested to remove her older son's bedroom from on limits. This bedroom is the first bedroom on the right side of the hallway. The facility sketch has been updated and a license update will be made upon LPAs return to the office. The off limit areas in the home consist of garage, three sheds in the backyard and one bedroom on the right side of the hallway closest to the front entrance. Licensee acknowledges that children may not have access to any off limit areas of the home.
LPA conducted a health and safety inspection and observed that the facility is clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair with ventilation. LPA observed the required documents were posted where visible to parents. The facility has equipment and toys safe for children. LPA observed that there were no hazardous items—such as cleaning compounds, medications, or sharp objects—accessible to children. The fireplace located under the outdoor patio is properly screened, per licensee the fireplace is not operational. The fire extinguisher appeared to be in working condition and accessible. LPA observed the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are properly functioning. The outdoor area is fenced, and the licensee acknowledged that in areas that are not fenced, 100% supervision is required. The licensee stated there are no weapons or poisons on the premises. There are no bodies of water at the property.
LPA observed a current children's roster and a fire drill log, the last drill was documented 12/12/2025. LPA reviewed four children’s files and observed that all the required documentation was present in each child's file. LPA observed the CPR/First Aid certificate was current and expires 01/2026. LPA observed a current Mandated Reporter certificate for the licensee expiring 11/13/2027. Licensee was reminded to renew both CPR and First Aid certificate as well as Mandated Reporter Training once every two years. LPA reviewed safe sleep logs for enrolled infants and observed that the Licensee regularly maintains records of nap periods.
