There are seven preschool classrooms in Room IN1, IN2, B1, and B2 which is located on the Main Floor, Room B3 which is located on the Lower Level, and Rooms PK1 and PK2 which is located on the Upper Level. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. There is a first aid kit in each of the classrooms. Medications will be stored in the front lobby. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. LR stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. LPA observed water dispensers in each of the classrooms. LPA observed a dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors throughout the building. LPA observed an electronic sign-in/sign-out system.
LPA measured the infant classrooms (Room I1, I2, T1, & T2). The total classroom spaces contain a total of 2,260 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant's request for 52 infants. LPA observed eight sinks and two toilets if needed. LPA measured the preschool classrooms (IN1, IN2, B1. B2, B3, PK1, & PK2). The total classroom spaces contain a total of 5,445 square feet, which will accommodate Applicant’s request for 146 preschool children. LPA observed thirteen toilets and twenty one sinks for the preschool children. There is a separate private restroom for the staff located in the front lobby plus additional staff restrooms throughout the building. Individual measurements are recorded on the Capacity Worksheet (LIC 9024). Children who become ill during the day will be isolated in the isolation room located on the Main Floor and will use the isolation restroom next door, if necessary.
OUTDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There are three outdoor area on the property (Infant Yard 1, Yard 2 Infant Area/Preschool Area, and Preschool Yard 1). Yard 2 is split between the infants and preschool children. Applicant has split the yard using temporary dividers so that the infants can utilize the concrete space towards the left and the preschool children can use the play structure space towards the right. Preschool Yard 1 was previously a parking area, but have been converted into a large outdoor space. LPA observed that the facility has another designated parking area for families and staff across the street.
The outdoor play areas are fenced with a wrought iron fence, chain link fence, and brick wall that is at least four feet tall. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment and toys.
