25 | On 4/7/2026, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Pa Dao Vang met with Licensee Roya Kohistani to conduct an unannounced Change of Capacity Inspection. The Licensee is requesting an increase from 8 to 14 children in care. Licensee owns the home and has provided control of property to LPA. There were two of her own children and two day care children in the facility during the inspection. Licensee stated that there are five day care children enrolled at the moment. The facility will operate Mondays thru Saturdays 2:00 PM- 10:00 PM.
The Licensee lives in one story home with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, laundry room, kitchen, living room, dining room, courtyard, front yard, shed, and backyard. Off Limit Areas include: bedroom #2, backyard, courtyard, shed, restroom #2, and laundry room. Licensee acknowledged that children may never enter these off-limit areas. LPA observed the required postings, a working phone, fire extinguisher, and functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
Licensee stated there are no weapons and no smoking in the home, and LPA observed all toxic and hazardous items to be inaccessible to children. Overall, LPA observed the home to be clean, safe, sanitary, and in good repair with appropriate toys for children. LPA received the STD.850 Fire Clearance approval on 4/2/2026 prior to inspection. LPA also verified the assistant’s fingerprint clearance and reviewed her personnel file with all the required documentation.
The facility is approved to operate as a Large Family Child Care Home with a maximum capacity (when there is an assistant present) of 12 children with no more than four infants OR a capacity of 14 children no more than three Infants; one child must be in Transitional Kindergarten/Elementary School and one child must be at least six years old. If there is not an assistant present, the facility must revert to a Small Family Child Care Home license. An exit interview conducted, and report was reviewed with Licensee Roya Kohistani. A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
