25 | Centralized Application Bureau (CAB) Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Alecia Sifuentes met with Center Manager Nancy Torres Acevedo for the purpose of an announced pre-licensing and change of capacity inspection. Licensee requests a change of capacity for the current school-age component (343603910) to serve 35 children enrolled in kindergarten and above and add a preschool component to serve 20 children from two years to entry into kindergarten. The fire clearances (STD850s) were granted and received on 2/6/2024. LPA informed the Center Manager that the facility will be converted to a single child care center license under facility number 344501005, therefore LPA will be closing the current school-age facility number 343603910.
LPA observed four school-age children with two teachers. The facility is located at Arthur C. Butler Elementary School. The program currently operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The facility will provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks. LPA reviewed with the Center Manager the LIC 311A, Records To Be Maintained At The Facility, for child’s records, personnel records, administrative records, and documents to be posted.
INDOOR ACTIVITY SPACE:
There is one preschool classroom located in Room #2 and one school-age classroom located in Room #1. The school-age children will also utilize the elementary school’s multipurpose room. LPA observed a sufficient amount of equipment, toys, tables, chairs, cubbies, and napping cots. There is a first aid kit located in each classroom. Medications will be stored in the kitchen in a locked box in the classroom cabinets. LPA observed cleaning disinfectants are appropriately stored and inaccessible to children. Center Manager stated there are no poisons or firearms on the premises. Center Manager stated staff will use water jug and cups for the children indoors and outdoors. LPA observed a functional carbon monoxide detector in the kitchen. LPA observed an electronic sign-in/sign-out system.
