25 | On June 25, 2024, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) DeAnna Williams-Lyons arrived unannounced to conduct a case management visit. LPA met with Jason Espinoza, caregiver, and explained the reason for the visit.
LPA received an email from Heather Hollingsworth, Client Services Manager at Alta Regional Center. She stated she went out to the home and there were multiple dogs there. One client has two dogs, those dogs did not seem to be aggressive. When she talked to staff at Espinoza Home shared that the owner lives in another house on the property (both properties share a back yard). The staff also shared that the owner has multiple dogs, but that the dogs do not keep the clients and the staff out of the back yard area. The staff shared one of the client’s assist with yard work, and one of the clients pointed that she sits outside. Apparently, one of the dogs tried to bite the ankle of the other service coordinator, however, it did not break the skin.
Jayson and LPA agreed that whenever company come over the 4 dogs will be placed in another room or in the garage. The facility had 4 dogs and another 4 at their other location. The dogs at the other facility are going to be sold The dogs at this facility do not appear to be aggressive.
Per California Code of Regulations, Title 22, no citations were issued.
An exit interview was conducted and a copy of this report was given to Alfredo. |
