Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Pedro Solorio and Fermin Campos-Jaramillo met with licensee Maria Ramirez for a required annual inspection. LPAs explained the nature of today’s inspection to her. Present were licensee, one of her children and one daycare children. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 3:30am to 6:00pm. The adults that reside in the home are licensee, her husband with their three children.

A review of staff records on 02/04/2025 indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee Maria Ramirez Guillen was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.


LPAs toured the indoor and outdoor areas of the home during today’s inspection. LPAs observed that the home is clean and orderly, with heating and ventilation for safety and comfort of the children. LPAs did not observe stairs or a fireplace in the home. LPAs observed safe and sufficient materials, toys, and play equipment for the day care children. All sharp objects, detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, poisons, and other similar items inside the home are stored inaccessible to children. LPAs observed a fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguisher. LPAs observed a working smoke detector and a working carbon monoxide detector. Licensee states there are no weapons/firearms in the home. Off limit areas indoor: two bedrooms. There are no bodies of water. Backyard is fenced. Off limits outdoor: left side locked storage, storage located in play area and fenced off area behind that play area that includes a chicken coop and storage. Licensee states she has two dogs that are vaccinated and several chickens. LPAs observed licensee has a current CPR and First Aid certification expiring 01/2026 and completed Mandated Reporter training on 01/06/2026.

LPAs did observe a current roster of the children. LPAs observed a fire and disaster drill log which was last completed on 12/6/2024. LPAs reviewed two children's files and observed all forms are completed and children have current immunization records. LPAs observed day care is insured with DCI and issued in January 2024. LPAs discussed SB792 Immunization Requirements and observed licensee has immunization records on file. No IMS is administered by the facility.

Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see PIN 22-02-CCP. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Supervision of children was discussed with licensee Maria Ramirez and she understands that she must be present in the home during day care hours and ensure that the children are supervised at all times. Licensee Maria Ramirez understands her capacity options and she understands that she cannot have more than 14 children in the home at any time. Licensee understands if she transports children via vehicle, children cannot be left in parked vehicles unattended at any time. Licensee understand that without a helper present, her maximum capacity us reduced to 8 and ratio must be observed as well.

LPAs discussed the safe sleep regulations with Licensee Maria Ramirez and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-andresources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPAs also informed licensee Maria Ramirez of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Licensee Maria Ramirez was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

During the exit interview, the LICENSEE MARIA RAMIREZ confirmed that there are no Registered Sex Offenders living in the facility and LPA completed the RSO profile in FAS.

Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Maria Ramirez.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.

Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
