25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPAs) Pedro Solorio Deanna Villagrana met with license Amanda Gaio to conduct an unannounced annual inspection to the home today. LPAs explained the nature of today’s inspection. Days and hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The adults that reside in the home are the licensee, her husband, and 16 year old and 11 year old children.
A review of staff records on 02/06/2025 indicates that all Facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions. Licensee Amanda was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to initial presence in a Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if the regulation is violated.
LPAs toured the indoor and outdoor areas during today's visit. There are stairs in the home that are barricaded. Off limit areas inside the home: upstairs master bedroom/bath, two bedrooms, downstairs bedroom, laundry closet, kitchen, and attached garage. LPAs observed a fully charged 3A10BC fire extinguisher, working smoke detector, working carbon monoxide, fenced backyard, and no bodies of water. Licensee states that there are no firearms/weapons in the home. LPAs observed several knives in a kitchen drawer and cleaning supplies including bug spray under the kitchen sink accessible to children. LPAs observed licensee has a current CPR and First Aid certification expiring 05/27/2025. Mandated Reporter training expired. LPAs observed a current roster of the children and a fire and disaster drill log which was last completed on 12/5/2024. LPAs reviewed four children's files and observed all forms are completed and children have current immunization records. Facility is not. LPAs discussed SB792 Immunization Requirements and observed licensee has immunization records on file. No IMS is administered by the facility. |
